OUR APPROACH
With Dr. Zolinski and his dedicated team, you can be sure all of your general dentistry needs will be taken care of. Our focus is on providing you with the highest quality of care and optimal comfort during your visits. When it comes to forming your treatment plan, our team will go over all of your options and answer any questions you may have. We believe in empowering patients to make their own treatment decisions. You are the ultimate decision-maker when it comes to your oral health.
Technology is another important facet of our approach to general dentistry. We have access to the latest laser technology, digital X-rays, and intraoral cameras. This cutting-edge equipment makes your treatment faster and more comfortable, and it enables us to deliver the exceptional results our team is known for.
Your first visit to Dr. Zolinski
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your first visit is a great chance for us to get to know each other and to understand any oral health issues or concerns you may have. Our team will do a thorough evaluation, which will include digital X-rays. This helps us to ensure we have an accurate picture of your oral health and can diagnose any underlying issues before treatment begins. Typically, professional dental cleanings occur at your first appointment. The exceptions are if you need a deep cleaning or if we detect periodontal disease. In both of these cases, we will schedule a future appointment for your periodontal therapy.
We use an intraoral camera, so you will be able to see exactly what we see. Dr. Zolinski will show you any areas of concern and explain what he’s seeing. We will also perform an oral cancer screening during your first visit. This includes palpation and visualization to check for any abnormalities.
Diagnodent
THE NEXT GENERATION OF PREVENTIVE CARE
Our practice uses DIAGNOdent as part of our standard practice in preventive care. DIAGNOdent is an innovative tool that looks just like a wand or pen and has a monitor. With this technology, we can easily and rapidly detect tooth decay that is not visible to the naked eye. DIAGNOdent is accurate, reliable, and noninvasive. This means that there is absolutely no negative impact on patient comfort. DIAGNOdent doesn’t replace the dental evaluation or digital X-rays, but it is a great supplemental way our team can ensure that decay does not go undetected.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
FOR A NATURAL LOOK
Remember those old amalgam fillings that others could easily spot when you laughed or smiled? The good news is that dental materials have improved tremendously since then, so you no longer have to settle for silver-colored fillings. Now we use modern, aesthetically pleasing tooth-colored fillings, which are made of composite resin so that they look completely natural. Dr. Zolinski will shape and polish them to blend seamlessly with your natural smile.
Dental Crowns
ADDING STABILITY TO DAMAGED TEETH
Dental crowns are common restorative treatments. Sometimes a tooth becomes worn, damaged, or decayed and must be fixed to prevent further issues. A crown helps make the tooth stronger and prevents further damage from occurring. If you need a crown, Dr. Zolinski will remove any compromised structure and prepare the remaining tooth, and our team will take digital impressions. This helps us create a perfect, customized fit to ensure your new crown is both functional and comfortable. We offer porcelain crowns at our dental office, which means they will look completely natural and match the shade of your smile.
Root Canal Therapy
USING ADVANCED TECHNIQUES
The dental pulp, which is a combination of nerves and connective tissue, exists inside the tooth and can become inflamed or infected. If this happens, you may need root canal therapy to fix the damage and restore your oral health. Infected pulp is a haven for bacteria, so failure to treat it properly can cause significant discomfort and lead to more serious health issues. Dr. Zolinski cleans out the nerve chamber and root canals to relieve the pain and symptoms associated with pulp damage so that you can feel your best again.
Periodontal Therapy
OUR APPROACHTREATING GUM DISEASE FOR A HEALTHY MOUTH
Unfortunately, periodontal disease is common among adults. Symptoms such as bleeding, swollen gums, chewing discomfort, and inflammation can occur when infection is present beneath the gumline. There are different types of periodontal disease: Gingivitis is a mild, reversible form, and periodontitis is a more serious condition. Untreated periodontal disease can lead to complications and affect your overall physical health. Periodontal therapy aims to eliminate bacteria, stop disease progression, and restore the teeth and gums so patients can live healthy lives.
Tooth Extraction
FOR SEVERELY DAMAGED TEETH
If a tooth is severely damaged or decayed beyond repair, Dr. Zolinski will recommend an extraction. Extracting a tooth will always be a last resort, but leaving a compromised tooth in place can lead to decay and gum problems with the surrounding teeth.
At our dental office, we offer both simple and surgical extractions. However, if you need your third molars removed, Dr. Zolinski will refer you to a specialist who can do this for you.
Mouth Guards & Nightguards
BECAUSE YOU ONLY HAVE ONE SMILE
You only have one smile, so it’s definitely worth saving! Mouth guards are a must when playing contact sports, especially for kids. A mouth guard offers excellent protection against injuries to the mouth, lessening the impact and the consequences.
Similarly, nightguards are helpful for people who grind their teeth. Many people do this at night in their sleep without even realizing it. This condition is also called bruxism. Constant teeth grinding can severely wear the enamel and create cracks and chips. A nightguard creates a barrier between the top and bottom jaws to force those muscles to relax and relieve excess pressure.
We customize both our mouth guards and nightguards using digital impressions to ensure a snug, comfortable fit.
Paying for your dental treatment.
Dr. Joseph Zolinski, DDS is a patient-centric practice.
Our practice does not limit your care to what your dental insurance deems best. Instead, you can access the care you want and need instead of the care your insurance dictates. This empowers patients and puts them in the driver’s seat of their own dental care.
